Travelling within the United Kingdom including transfers from the airport, in and around Oxford and the excursion trips are included in the fees for all courses offered by The Oxford Institute. The summer program includes a number of excursions in and around Oxford, Big Ben, Hyde Park, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, museums, shopping centres and other places of interest. The students are therefore only required to arrange for their air travel to and from the United Kingdom. We recommend that you arrive at and depart from London Heathrow airport. In exceptional cases, London Gatwick, Luton and City airports and Birmingham International Airport may also be used.
The health and safety of all our students is of paramount importance for us. A number of arrangements are in place to ensure this including but not limited to the following:
All our students are supervised around the clock and accompanied by our deans, lecturers and tutors. The students are divided into smaller groups during the outdoor activities (such as educational excursions) and are accompanied by trained and specialist staff members.
Our deans remain available at student accommodations at all times.
All students are required to remain on the premises from 9 pm onwards, with curfew starting at 10:30 pm, when all summer program students are expected to return to their dorms. Our staff ensures that everyone is safely checked in before the set curfew time. Within the premises, students are free to use the common rooms, watch television, and socialise in a relaxed and secure environment. For added safety, staff members are on-site and available throughout the night should any student require assistance.
Students are expected to maintain decorum and adhere to all rules while in the residential complex. Excessive noise, misuse of property, or any form of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Respect for fellow students, staff, and the environment is essential. Violations may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the program.
We are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. Students must treat everyone with respect, regardless of background, culture, or beliefs. Any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination will result in serious consequences, including potential expulsion.
Students must agree that they will not purchase, possess, or consume alcohol or drugs at any time during the program. All program activities and premises, including outdoor spaces, are strictly non-smoking. Violations of these rules will result in immediate expulsion, and the student will be sent home. Parents will be notified immediately, and any associated costs will be borne by the student’s family.
Students are required to attend all scheduled classes, workshops, and activities, unless they have prior permission from a staff member. Punctuality and active participation are expected to ensure everyone gains the most from the program.
The safety of our students is our top priority. Students are expected to follow safety guidelines during all activities, including excursions. Any failure to comply with safety instructions may lead to disciplinary measures. Our on-site staff is available 24/7 to address any concerns or emergencies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
